Industrial contract with Saudi Aramco and MASDAR Institute studying the hydrogen effect on oil & gas pipeline steel grades X65 and X42.

Type of Services/Role:

  • Measure fracture toughness with respect to standard ASTM E1820, using SEB specimens
  • Measure hydrogen diffusing in the sample for both static and in situ testing
  • Measure the micro-hardness along the crack path and provide with a correlation to fracture toughness measurements in air and in hydrogen
