Underwater pollution survey in Andros – Aegean Rebreath / AMA
ALS Marine Consultants Ltd, in partnership with Aegean Rebreath and AMA (Andros Maritime Association), will be undertaking the task of mapping and marking a polluted underwater area of Andros, as well as get a volumetric measurement of these so called ‘plastic reefs’, so that clean-up activities can be planned.
The area will be surveyed with a specially modified ROV, and will be mapped digitally using an echosounder. The results will be crucial to further design a cleanup strategy of the polluted sectors, whilst minimizing the environmental impact in the area.
